Round 13

1st Grade came up against University in the top of the table clash. Andrew McRae (3/37) grabbed a couple of early wickets to have Uni 3/35. But some partnerships followed, as well as some rain, and we ended up needing to chase 8/194 off 40 overs. We were in a bit of bother at 4/54, but Dave Studholme (69) & Blake Owen (51) put on a 108 run partnership to keep us in the contest. Two fours by Toby Dodds in the last over sealed the win. A very exciting game.

2nd Grade looked to be well in control of that game. Uni were 6/37 at one point, but manage to scramble together 103 for us to chase. Truman Driscoll was the main destroyer, taking 5/15, and Cian Egerton chipped in with 2/10 off his 7 overs. But we kept it interesting, slumping to 5/36, before a 58 run partnership between Scott Smith (31 n.o.) & Josh Yeaman (30, to go with his 2/7 when bowling) got us to within 10 runs of victory…and we won that game 6/104.

3rd Grade Whites made 9/141 of the 45 overs. And stayed in the game right until the last over…NDs claiming the win with 2 balls to spare.

3rd Grade Maroons were set 8/177 to chase by Keira Black. We lost our 5th wicket at 5/143, with Puneet Berry making 54 of them. Then fell away, as we lost the next 5 wickets for 18…all out 161 with 4 overs to spare.

4th Grade Blacks made 4/169 against Wests. Michael Bryant making 77, and Ulises Jaque making 55. We bowled out Wests for 98, and along the way we celebrated Lachlan Crawley’s 100th wicket for the Club (while taking 4/15), and the first wicket in Senior Grade cricket for Max Varda (2/18). Well done Lachlan & Max.

4th Grade Whites were bowled out for 91, and lost to Keira Red 1/92.
