Round 16

After some wet weather late in the week, Council did a great job to get us on for a game.  And some pretty exciting/tense/nervous stuff resulted.

1st Grade were sent in at Ziems Park against Corrimal. We though 4/40 was precarious, but 8/88 was getting desperate!  Then a 77 run partnership between Jason Welsh (57) & Andrew McRae (20) got us to a defendable score of 172.  Corrimal made us wait for their wickets though, batting out 44 overs…all out 115.  Tyler Johns 3/13 & Lachlan Maddinson 3/20 doing most of the damage for us.

2nd Grade were at NDP. Again, we lost the toss and were sent in on a wet one.  Scott Smith (60 n.o.) provided the backbone of the innings, to get us to 8/151 at the end of our 50 overs.  We bowled Corrimal out for 63, with Cian Egerton (3/7) & Steve Buckley (3/19) making the most of the bowling conditions, and securing us a double bonus point win.

3rd Grade Maroons had a win over Corrimal.  We were all out for 141, and then our bowlers had Corrimal at 7/4…Yes, 7 wickets for 4 runs!  There was a late flurry from their No.9 batsman to score 41, but the Corrimal innings ended at 57.

3rd Grade Whites went down Keira Red. Chasing their 7/152, we were all out for 129.  Jahanghir Jadoon made 41.

4th Grade Blacks had a good game against the University IPCC team.  Steve Brown (48) & Kyle Dutton (39) did most of the scoring as we posted a total of 8/178.  Bryce Woods took 4/37 & Ulises Jaque took 3/25, and we bowled out IPCC for 161.

4th Grade Whites made 98, and kept Keira Gold honest in their run chase as we took 6 wickets.  But Keira claimed the win.

In the Womens T20, our Gems took on Corrimal.  The Cougarettes won the toss and batted, scoring 8/45.  Kobi Lynch-Munro took 4/2, and Alayah Humphries 2/0.  In the run chase, India Bellhouse scored 25 and we got the win 3/49 with an over to spare.

U17Bs had a loss to Balgownie.  Bally made 7/113, and we made 9/102.  Shreyash Regmi scoring 31.

U13Bs made 2/188 and had a win over Port Kembla – all out 25.  Plenty of our boys amongst the runs - Kianu Rawiri (30*), Taye Rawiri (29), Max Varda (23*), William Muller (33*), Euan Egerton (21*)

U11s lost in a tight run chase against Keira Black.  Keira set us a score of 6/108, with Luis Correa taking 4/21.  We ended our innings 3/101, with Nathan Washbourne making 24.
