T20s - Round 4 v Port Kembla & Round 5 v Keira

Plenty happened, & didn’t happen in the T20 double header today. Ladder positions are yet to be confirmed, and who will play T20 Semis???

1st Grade made 2/173 against Port Kembla with David Studholme (82) & Duncan Maddinson (39) sharing a 83 run opening stand. Corey Fogarty (31) chipped in as well. We had Port 4/49 when the game was called off due to lightning & storm. A win for us. The game against Keira was abandoned.

2nd Grade were chasing Port Kembla’s 8/138. When the rain set in we were 2/23 and lost on Duckworth Lewis. The game against Keira was abandoned.

3rd Grade White bowled Dapto out for 79. But 2 overs into the game with 25 on the board, lightning struck, and the game was abandoned. The game against Keira Red was abandoned.

3rd Grade Maroons were chasing Northern Districts 9/93. At 1/46 after 6.4 overs…likely to be a win for us. The game against Balgownie was abandoned.

4th Grade Blacks made 4/146 against Uni Blue. Travis Dutton amongst the runs again (92). Uni were 4/18 after 6 overs when rain hit. That’s a win to us. Our game against Uni Red was abandoned.

4th Grade Whites played Keira Red…which was a loss on D/L. The game against NDs Gold is yet to be advised.

And our Women's Wollongong Gems T20 team have started the 2020/21 Season with a win over the Corrimal Cougarettes tonight. Batting first, we set 4/153 in 16 overs for Corrimal to chase. We've added some new firepower at the top of the order...Steph Gillett made 74. India Bellhouse batted through the innings for 37, and Renee Farmillo 26...and both taking a spectacular catch when fielding...shame the camera man wasn't on his game! Corrimal made 7/70 in reply, with Samantha Henness taking 2/7 amongst a bunch of good bowling figures for all the girls.

And thanks to our Women's Team sponsor Wollongong Women’s Information Service with their "Illawarra Reclaim the Night" initiative raising awareness to prevent violence against women.

More good news from our Juniors with the U17Bs, U13Bs & U11s all having wins yesterday.

Our Woolworth Junior Blasters & Master Blasters started their fun at North Dalton Park today. Great see all the young kids out there at NDP. Registrations are still open through the season.
